The Software Development Engineers analyse, design, implement and configure various software components and tools used within the ISC Remote Management Platform in order to support the ISC operations.

  • Perform a technical analysis and design to implement new functionality within or to update existing modules of the ISC Software platform
  • Develop and configure the requested functionality according to the agreed designs and planning using the development tools and languages used within the ISC platform.
  • Deliver the necessary support and documentation to the NOC infrastructure team in order to install the new components in production.  Provide support to ensure operational status of the ISC Software platform.
  • Technical interaction with product vendors
  • Create and maintain technical documentation.
  • The SW Development Engineers need to sharpen their technical skills to continuously improve the components of the ISC software platform. They assist the architects in evaluating and selection of new products.
Profile
 
Education: 
  • Engineering degree preferably in Computer Science or equivalent
Experience:
  • The candidate has a minimum of 3 years experience in development within a managed networking / security services environment.
Skills:
  • Required
    • In depth knowledge of networking and network management components in specific
    • In depth knowledge of SNMP objects definition related to network devices, vendors and technology
    • Managed Network Services in general and Network/System Management Tools specific to this domain
    • Good understanding of TCP/IP (L3) networking concepts
    • Experience with software development under Unix (Sun Solaris)
    • Scripting languages (shell, PERL, .) to develop automations
  • Recommended
    • Experience with Quallaby Proviso
    • Experience with other network performance management software packages (e.g. Infovista, Concorde)
    • Knowledge about security infrastructure in general (Firewall, IDS)
    • Knowledge with L1/L2 network management
    • Knowledge on Cisco routing and switching devices
