Biography Martin Coppens
Martin is a civil engineer and started at Belgacom in 1977. Throughout his years at Belgacom, Martin held various technical management responsibilities, including the roll-out of Belgacom's first public data network. After five years as director of the Corporate Customers Division, Martin took over the Product Management function at the Carrier and Wholesale Business Unit in 2001 and headed the National Wholesale division thereafter. In his most recent assignment, Martin lead since 2005 Belgacom's Network and System Integration (NSI) - division of 120 people as Managing Director.
Martin brings in an in-depth understanding of the Telco and ICT market and the requirements of our Belgian and international customer base.
As Vice President Solutions, Martin will continue to evolve the Group's solutions roadmap implemented since 2004 by the Solutions team, before under the leadership of Andy Zynga. In accordance with Group Strategy, Andy has widened his responsibilities as Vice President BINCE to include the Scandinavian Region. With the acquisition of InfraSystems in Sweden, the BINCE-region is now expanded with an important first presence in the high-growth Scandinavian market.
Martin will join Telindus already as from 1 August 2006 and will, in the following months, ensure the smooth integration of the NSI-team into the Telindus Belgium organisation. In addition, he will during this transition period prepare the next phase of the Group Solutions strategy together with Andy and the Corporate Solutions team.
Martin is 52, lives in De Pinte with his wife, Katrien and has 2 children.
